The statistics are in for Aspen/Snowmass real estate year-to-date through August 31, 2015.   The summer was off to a slow start but thus far we have seen 25 closings over $9M with an additional 13 homes over $9M currently pending.  The luxury market is strong if you have the right property in the right location.  As expected, the downtown Core, West End and Red Mountain continue to command higher prices and buyers can find more value going east or west of town.  Single family homes in Aspen have seen a jump of 25% in average sale price while condos/townhomes average sale price is down 6.4% year over year.  With Aspen’s pricing pushing some buyers towards more value in Snowmass, SMV average single family

A few months ago Portfolio Aspen Properties joined a great group of tennis enthusiasts in the Roaring Fork Valley who formed Advantage Indoor Tennis (Ad In, a 501c3) to fund raise approximately $1.1M to construct a permanent indoor structure over 4 courts at Crown Mountain Public Park (El Jebel).  Once Ad In raises the funds, they will turn them over to Crown Mountain Park District, who will construct the building, maintain and run the public facility.  Ad In already raised over $500,000 but they need help to get to the finish line so Portfolio stepped up to get them there by hosting a Wimbledon themed fundraiser on June 30, 2015 at the St. Regis Hotel in Aspen.  The Portfolio Aspen Properties Tennis Fundraiser was a great success and everyone enjoyed

The Sky Hotel redevelopment in Aspen has finally ignited following several years of planning.  The new hotel is slated to be the “sexiest ski lodge in North America.”  In early 2015 the Aspen City Council unanimously approved the remodeling of the Sky Hotel, calling for the demolition of the old structure and the erection of shoter, yet more efficient hotel and vacation property. Referred to as a year-round playground, guests can ski-in to access the lifts and enjoy comfortable suites. Offering luxurious amenities from an outdoor pool, to a restaurant and an onsite fitness center, the Sky Hotel is a popular stay amongst tourists.
